Introduction: Mindful Careers

Mindfulness is a hot topic these days. Brands like Target and Google are investing significant amounts of time and money to bring mindful practices to their employees to lower stress levels, improve productivity and reduce health costs. Mindfulness practitioners know the importance of recharging in order to regain productivity. And mindfulness research is convincing many people that reflection, openness, and thoughtfulness will have a positive impact.

It is time to embrace these simple and powerful practices as you navigate planning your next career chapter. When finding and following purposeful work, many people forget to do the internal work that is critical in finding alignment between who you are and what you do. Building a new career path from the inside out will allow you to have more meaning, fulfillment and peace as you take on the sometimes daunting task of changing your job or career.

When was the last time you sat quietly and did nothing but think calmly about your future?

This series will help navigate you through a process that will take you out of fear and into a more peaceful place so you can make better decisions about your career. When I work with clients, my role is to help them slow down and connect to a stronger foundation so that they can bring more faith and less fear into the process of finding work they love. I will share this process so you can be will empowered you to expand the possibilities for yourself. Mindful decision makers to consider all of their options, and therefore make more-informed decisions.

In addition to reading this blog, I am going to request that you go to a quiet place each week, away from electronics and sit quietly for 3-5 minutes.
