What inspired you to take the “Discover Remarkable Work” Program?
I wanted support as I clarified the vision for my consulting and coaching practice in order to create a sustainable, enjoyable and abundant business. As I began my work with Laurel, I felt that I was about 80% on the right track, but I actually still had a tendency to be all things to all people where I needed to narrow my focus and achieve a better sense of work/life balance.
What is your plan for the future?
I’ve been able to fine-tune my professional mission and target my ideal audience that translates into empowering and developing the next generation of socially-minded leaders to create real and impactful change in their organizations and beyond. In the coming years, I’ll serve this audience through training, consulting, and coaching — with the ultimate goal of creating an institute for socially-minded leadership.
How did the program help you most?
The program allowed me to look beyond the confines of my traditional thinking to develop a unique and authentic point of view and perspective that I can share with confidence, intentionality and integrity in every conversation. Now that I have found my point of view, or rather my voice, the blocks and barriers that can often resemble procrastination based in uncertainty or fear have all but disappeared. I believe this speaks to the courage that is required in following one’s authentic path.
What is the best advice you can give to someone trying to find their calling or discover their dream job?
First and foremost, have patience with the process and realize that it can take time and multiple attempts to define, refine, and pursue your authentic path. Second, turn up the volume on that little voice that may be telling you some of the most important messages about your authentic path. Finally, once you begin to explore your path, be sure to ask for and pay attention to the feedback from the universe no matter how subtle or dramatic.
